World-class Must-Have WD HDD Repair Tool

If you want to repair and recover damaged Western digital hard drives, DFL-WDII hdd repair tool is one must-have tool.

It has unique wd hdd repair functions and features other hdd repair tools don't have and you can check the following features:

1:FORCE LOADING DATA RECOVERY TECHNOLOGY

‘Force Loading’ helps to fix many damaged WD hdds which spin up and down and their SA areas cannot be accessed. Force Loading’ is one creative hdd repair feature enables direct access to safe mode and have the clicking hard drive spinning up and then access to the firmware area and fix the firmware damage. This is one perfect and quick way to help users repair WD clicking hard drives by firmware failure.
If the ‘force loading’ works, it tells the failure of firmware modules, otherwise, it’s the head damage.

2: LDR LOADING AND SMART SPT ACQUISITION

When the important ATA modules are not loaded, the hard drives cannot be initialized correctly or cannot be detected at all. In order to check, repair and operate on the tracks of the firmware area, we need to load the LDR and have the ATA modules loaded into the buffer so that we can restore the hard drives and begin to repair.
After the LDR is loaded into the buffer, the hard drive’s SPT information can be acquired automatically and the operation of the firmware repairing becomes easier.
We no longer need to do complicated hot swap to fix many non-detected western digital hard drives. So this feature helps us a lot to save time in repairing and recovering firmware damaged WD drives。

3:ATA COMMAND

This function is for skilled users and these users can send ATA commands to operate on the HDD. If the commands used are correct, the HDD will return responding hdd info for further analysis.

4:LBA TO CHS:

It’s hard to decide the head or zone location of the bad sectors when you scan the patient hdd and get the LBA address of bad sectors. This function is used to convert the LBA address to CHS address so that you obviously figure out which head and which zone have the bad sectors.

5.EXTRACT MODULES FROM TRACKS:

For some WD HDD which you cannot access to its FW modules normally but the tracks can be read. Many users cannot judge the whether and which FW modules are good or damaged but this unique function will help to extract the FW modules from the tracks and compare the checksum of all extracted modules at the same time.
After that, users can easily view the health status of each module and then fix the damaged modules as usual.

6.ROM DEEP TEST:

This data recovery technology will perform deep test and checking to the ROM contents except the ROM modules. If there’re damages in the ROM contents, the DFL-WDII program will automatically prompt a message telling whether the ROM is good or damaged so that you can efficiently lower the risk of damaging the PCB by a wrong ROM write.

7.DIR STARTING ADDRESS EDITING:

This data recovery technology is mainly used for WD ROYL HDD after PCB 1640 series. These HDDs keep busy instead of entering ‘ready’ status. Our new technology allows you to edit the DIR starting address and users just need to shift the DIR starting address a bit and the HDDs will be ready. After that, you may use ‘Extract Modules from Tracks’ to check the modules and finally restore the HDD and access to the user area.

8.QUICK FORMAT SA AREA:

This data recovery technology is used to handle defects within the SA area and generate module 30 and module 35 bad sector tables.

9. FORMAT FW AREA:

This technology is used to clear the SA area before ‘Common FW and ROM Repair’ and can be also used to rewrite the FW modules to SA with logical bad sectors or other SA problem which causing the FW write failure.

10.REGENERATE ID MODULE:

ID Module is the Module 02 of WD HDD and ID module damage is one very common WD hdd failure but it’s not easy to find one donor 02 module from other drives. This data recovery technology is to regenerate module 02 from the original FW modules. Users no longer need to spend time looking for donor and the success rate by fixing such failure is maximized.

11.WRITE COMMON REPAIR FW:

This technology is mainly used for hdd repair and can effectively improve the hdd repair success rate with DFL-WDII customized common FW modules (The common ROM modules are included too)

12.MODULE SHIFTING:

This technology is used for data recovery from SA area with bad sectors. If some important FW modules are distributed in the area with physical bad sectors, the hdd cannot be repaired by writing fw modules because it is not writeable at all. With this new data recovery technology, all the vacant tracks can be listed and the problem module can be shifted by simple clicks.

13: P-LIST REGENERATION TECHNOLOGY

P-list is one of the hard drive defects lists and the other one is G-list. Bad sectors encountered during post-manufacture testing are contained within this defect table known as the P-list (“permanent” or “primary” defect table). P-list sectors have no effect on drive access speed as they are automatically omitted by the drive electronics. P-list table is one very important and primary defect table and it contains all the bad sectors during the manufacturing process and with this defect table in good status, the HDD runs smoothly without the interruption of bad sectors.
DFL-WDII has integrated one very powerful hdd repair function, that is to regenerate the original P-list, all you need to do is to press one single button and then you’re able to access the data area by the generated P-list.

14.ONLINE ARCO:

After a lot of research on the low success rate of WD hdd selftest, DFL-WDII is equipped with this new technology to maximally improve the hdd repair success rate.
“One Button ARCO” is a combination of 6B TPI(Density) Correction, 69 Capacity Settings and 46 Optimize. Below ‘One Button ARCO’ in the DFL-WDII hdd repair program, you can find five separated Selftest processes and they are ‘6F Optimize’-TouchDn Correction, ‘6A Optimize’-GAP R/W Correction, ’46 Optimize’-Complete Channel Optimization, ’69 Optimize’-Capacity Settings, ‘6B Optimize’-TPI Correction.
Generation orders to run ARCO is to run ‘6f Optimize’,’6a Optimize’, ‘6b Optimize’,’69 Optimize’,’46 Optimize’. For some drives, you may run ‘6a Optimize’before ‘6f Optimize’if you fail to run ‘6f Optimize’in the beginning.

15 TPI&CAP SETTING:

This is one very useful hdd repair technology and users can configure the HDD Capacity, TPI and other parameters.

Above data recovery technologies are claimed to be equipped with  DFL-WDII hdd repair tool.

Clean room and flash ssd advanced data recovery training in Europe September

Data Recovery Salon is proud to announce in September we are offering Advanced Data Recovery Training in Portugal. Data Recovery Salon has teamed up with PCLab in Portugal to host three advanced training classes. The classes will begin on September 3rd to September 7th.

Reserve A Training Seat Now

This is the first chance to receive Advanced DR Training. It is our experience that Data Recovery is broken down into three distinct modules. Module one Logical and Physical Recovery, Module 2 Head and Platter swaps, and Module 3 Flash, SSD, Jump Drive and PCB repair. It is virtually impossible to teach all there is to know about Data Recovery in a week’s session. All training institutes offer you a crash course in Data Recovery. No facility will go into an in-depth study and teach you what is necessary in this time frame. The classes are short and only cover the very basics of Data Recovery. When the course is completed and you return home to your office with so much information but not a lot learned in this week’s course. There will be so many unanswered questions that you find yourself more confused than when you started out. Data Recovery Salon and PCLab in Portugal are offering you a chance to learn data recovery from a professional stand point. The classes offered are not crash courses but full hands on courses where you will do the work yourself. You will have a chance to choose which class will benefit you the most. There will be three professors to teach each one.

Module One: Logical and Physical Recovery:

Advance course studies into data recovery. The course highlight will include in-depth studies on the HDD, sector, byte, clusters, blocks, disk formatting. Further detail will be given to drive construction, spindle motor, heads, and actuator, landing zone, architectures and drives by type. During this course you will learn what the main function of data recovery are, physical and logical recovery, determining stage 1 and stage 2 recovery and typical malfunctions of the HDD. A complete class will be dedicated to logical recovery which will include master boot record, volume boot record, standard EPB for FAT 16, standard BPB for FAT16 and FAT boot Sector. Further study will be given on root directory, NTFS compressed files, NTFS encryption and Root Directory offset. Close attention will be paid to firmware and the Service area for each drive family. During this class you will study the firmware structure of each drive family. After learning how to determine the problem of the HDD it is necessary to repair these problems in order to have access to the data on the drive. In order to repair problems with the FW of the HDD a complete course is dedicated to using the tools from Salvation Data. You will learn how each tool is used in repairing the HDD, reading SA, ROM, RAM and much more. The Data Compass course will include in dept knowledge about the shadow disk, how the Data Compass works, setting up a HDD for imaging, how to image by heads, and finally RAID recovery. During the course each student will receive a manual for the course which they will use in class and be able to take with them when the class is finished. The course is based on the manual and in the appendix there is extra information needed to further your knowledge in data recovery.

Module Two: Head and Platter Swap:

This course only deals with Head and Platter Swaps. This is an extremely valuable class that will teach you techniques to succeed in swapping out heads and platters on hard drives. In normal classes the instructor will provide you with one hard drive and teach you a simple technique of using paper to swap out heads. Not many can succeed in this procedure without months and months of practice. In our advanced class you will learn how to swap out heads using precision tools. The techniques of moving heads from platters or ramps depending on the HDD make and model. You will learn how to find a matching donor drive for your head swaps. It is important to understand that each hard drive has a special way of removing a head and changing them out. You will not work with only one hard drive you will work in all models of hard drives and be required to practice swapping out heads in each series. The instructor will be there to help you and guide you through this process. Platter swaps is very difficult to make especially if there is more than one platter on the HDD and the drive has spacers. In this class you are instructed on how keep the alignment of the platters while moving them to a new chassis. During basic training classes the instructor will demonstrate a head swap and platter swap during the class time allocated for this section of the class. But not in advanced training your entire class is dedicated to head and platter swaps. This is the only way to succeed in this operations is by hours and hours of practice. This technique is difficult to master on your own but with our professional instructor you will leave this class and return to your office to swap out heads and platters for your client’s drives.

Module Three: Flash, Jump Drive, SSD, and PCB Repair:

Flash recovery is becoming more and more necessary in Data Recovery. Flash drives, jump drives, SSD drives are being used more and more for data storage and transfer. This class is especially designed to teach you how to recovery the different storage media. In this class each student should have access to a computer running XP or Vista and a Soft Center Flash Extractor. It is not necessary to purchase this before class but once the class is finished this tool will be necessary to use in recovering your flash drives on. If you are serious about Flash recovery it is recommended that you obtain the Soft Center Flash Extractor and bring this to class with you. The course is based on using this tool for recovering Flash drives, jump drives, and SSD. In this class you will be introduced to flash memory. How flash memory physically and logically operates using blocks, banks, pages, storage, algorithms and file systems. You will receive an over view of USB onboard components and electronics. Different types of popular flash chips such as monolithic and tsop-48 will be discussed and taught during this time. In Flash recovery it is important to be able to diagnose a faulty USB drives electrical components. You will learn how to replace controllers using soldiering station. During your course you will learn how to remove NAND chips with a soldering station. The Soft Center NAND reader will be introduced and you will learn how to use the reader and software for dumping data from a NAND chip(s). The Soft Center Flash Extractor program for reassembling and recovery data will be introduced. You will receive an over view of FE’s Mix Editor for de-mixing storage algorithm. It is necessary to understand the FE’s Assembler for assembling de-mixed data. Finally in this section of your course you will be introduced to Solid State Drives and file systems. SSD recovery is becoming more in more in demand so this section of the course deals only with SSD recovery, controller and electrical components. You will learn how to diagnose and repair faulty SSD, remove multiple NAND chips using a soldering station, dump data from multiple NAND chips on SSD in correct order. Finally in this class you will learn how to repair some PCB for hard drives. At times it might be necessary to rebuild the PCB when one is not available to you. This course will teach you how to determine the problem with the PCB and use the soldering station and techniques to repair these boards. This is a completely hands on course and you will be required to do some recoveries on flash drives, jump drives, and SSD. On some drives just to receive a dump can take one or two days to read the chips. The instructor will prepare some dumps for you in advanced and you will be required to reassemble these dumps to get data from the NAND chips. When this class is finished you will have the knowledge necessary how to recovery Flash, jump drives, SSD and repair PCB. You will have 5 days extensive training in only this area. Flash recovery is difficult and it is necessary to spend a full 5 days to learn this aspect of Data Recovery

Conclusion:

The three courses are specially designed with your needs in mind. It is not necessary to take all the classes you can pick the one that would benefit you the most. We have arranged for three experts in this field to be in Portugal during this week to teach you Advanced Training in Data Recovery. If there is an interest and you would like to attend more than one class we will see if there are enough students to hold these courses over one more weeks so that you may attend more than once class. Advanced Logical and Physical Recovery is designed around using the tools from Salvation Data the HD DR Suite, and the Data Compass. We are sorry but due to some companies restriction we are not allowed to train on their tools. If you are using another tools this course can still benefit you teaching you the drive basics, determination of stage 1 and stage 2 data recovery, the HDD Service Area, Firmware repair. You can take this class and go back to your office and apply all that you have learned using other tools. The head and platter swap class is a unique opportunity to learn how to be successful in swapping out your clients’ heads and platters. You will gain knowledge and techniques in these operations that are not taught anywhere else. You will have complete hands on experience in swapping out your own heads and platters during the classes. Flash recovery using Soft Center Flash Extractor the one expert’s choose in this field. This tool is highly rated for the success in flash, jump drive and SSD recovery. You will receive training on this tool that is not offered any where else by anyone. Flash recovery is one of the most difficult aspects of data recovery and we have one of the top experts in this field to train you and teach you this work. Don’t miss your chance to attend one of the Advanced Data Recovery training courses held this year in Portugal. You may sign up and register for the class or classes that best meet your needs. Having knowledge on data recovery is a must for any computer user

If not all, most work nowadays are done with the use of computers. Even, communications are not anymore exclusively done through telephones and mobile phones or snail mail but by the use of computers via the internet. These days a lot of things are dependent on a machine most especially computers, laptops, and mobile gadgets; it is important to know how we can use them effectively and at the same time we should know how to take care of them and how to trouble shoot our computers if we are experiencing problems with them.

One of the most dreaded things that can happen and post a serious problem for anyone is data loss on a computer. Data loss is so serious that it can ruin a person's career, it can mean millions and millions of loss for a company, it can also be a loss of company partnership or deal. Sufficing to say that data loss is so bad that no one on their right minds will wish something like that would happen ever happen to them. Sadly, data loss is very much a reality and if you are not prepared to deal with it then it is a big loss.

Fortunately, there is a way to comat data loss. There are a lot of information on the internet on how to recover lost data. One of the very basics of retrieving lost data is by doing a systems restore that will put your computer back on a previous state and hopefully in a state that still have all your lost data. However, that do not always work.

Having knowledge on data recovery is a must for any computer user. All important information on your work, personal, and even your recreational like games are mostly in your computer. Nowadays, there are a lot of information on how to handle loss of data, even on severe situations which lead to your loss of data. There are technicians that gives onsite data recovery, which means a computer techinician will go to your location and try to recover your lost data. However, while services of the said nature is good and available, it is still better if you can do the data recovery yourself. Here are a couple of reasons why anyone that uses a computer should take time and have training on data recovery:

1) You are not dependent on a coputer techinician - If you are in a bind and pressed for time, you cannot always wait for the computer techinician to go to your location and work on trying to retrieve your loss data. There are also instances that performaing data recovery with severe problems may need some special work which cannot be done on your location; having knowledge of this will help you prepare and invest on a gadget or a software that will help you recover your data.

2) Higher Market Value - There is a saying that knowledge is power, on this situation, having the training for data recovery would really give you some sort of power; not only are you benefiting from the knowledge on how to recover data, but your family, friends and your co-workers as well. You can help your company or your boss not to loose a deal, transaction, reports, to a data loss if you can perform on site data recovery. Right there and then, you can get the data back and push forward.

Those are just a couple of reasons on how you will benefit from having the knowledge of data recovery, there are still a lot more benefits in knowing how to recover lost data. You just need to take time and invest on learning all you can about data recovery.

Premium Fast Data Recovery Software

We have recently got many data recovery cases which are actually level-0 data recovery cases which the customers should have fixed by themselves only if they are able to read English and have a little computer knowledge. We call these data recovery cases basic logical data recovery cases and we can usually recover the data within minutes using some data recovery software.

We are willing here on this data recovery magazine to share one useful fast data recovery software to all and hope it helps you out. However, this recovery software is not free because we usually recommend no freeware if you want positive and even 100% good results.

This data recovery software is priced at USD64.99 and it's one reasonable and attractive prices based on its following data recovery features and abilities:

1, Fast Data Recovery Software-This recovery software is 200% faster than other similar data recovery software and you can also use the quick search features to find the lost file immediately;

2, This data recovery software is extremely easy to use. If you happen to delete your valuable files, you can select "deleted recovery", if your partitions are gone, then select "Partition Recovery', if you accidentally formatted your hard drives or USB flash drives, select "Format Recovery", there're one more option is called "Raw Recovery" which means you can recover more lost files but it takes longer time;

3, This recovery software helps to recover lost data from hard drives, USB drives, memory cards, memory sticks, camera cards, or other storage devices;

4, You can simply use this recovery software  in Windows NTFS, FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 and also EXT2 and EXT3 under most prevailing operating systems(Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Vista X64, Windows 7 X32, Windows 7 X64.). If you have any questions during your operation with this recovery software, free technique support is offered.

In a word, this recovery software is not perfect, but it's worth the price and helps many common data recovery loss situations. As many other standard data recovery software, it doesn't recover data from undetected or dead storage devices until you restored them with data recovery hardware tools.

You can download this data recovery software and try it for free here or you can buy this data recovery software directly using paypal, credit card or other payment methods here so that you can now do data recovery by yourself.

Data Recovery From Seagate 7200.11 Hard Drive With Bad Sectors

Mr. Wawas Ali just shared Data recovery Salon with one of his new data recovery case in his own data recovery lab. This is one data recovery video by Screen Recorder and we think it might be interesting to some of our readers. Anyway, he has included this video in his data recovery video packages and it's premium data recovery video.

About This Data Recovery Video

This data recovery video is to fix one Seagate 7200.11 hard drive with bad sectors. The patient hard drive received from his client is in busy status and Mr. Ali used Seagate doctor to diagnose the hard drive and found there're bad sectors in the first 54mb of the HDD. The partitions cannot be displayed in Windows mode but displayed in DOS mode.

When you scan this hdd by vectoria, it showed bad sectors from 54 mb to onwards and some time it lost the detection. Besides, it showed partition for some time and whenever you clicked the partition the hdd lost detection. It is the major problem in 7200.11 series hdd.

Mr. Ali has recorded the whole process to fix this kind of common problems of Seagate 7200.11 failures using screen recorder and explained in a word document in his data recovery video. The data recovery tools he used are: hd doctor for seagate , data recovery software-file scavenger(this software will be also included in his data recovery vedio package to be sent to customers), vectorio or hdat2, smart fdisk for dos.

If you are interested in Mr. Ali's data recovery video package, please visit the data recovery store.

How To Fix Damaged Hard Drives With Jammed Spindle Motors

We have been told many times by our clean room data recovery engineers they have low success rate on drives with stuck motor and they cannot do much on these difficult cases until they begin to use the spindle replacement tool.

When we received damaged hard drives with stuck or jammed motors, we usually consider using some kind of hdd repair hardware to disassemble the hard drives, remove the heads carefully and then remove the platters of the patient drives to a donor hard drive. Well, this is not easy data recovery work especially when there're multiple platters of over 2 with dumpers between the platters.

We know there're some data recovery tools manufacturers claiming to be able to swap multiple platters with dumpers but few of them can do it with good result and even some of them caused second damage or permanent loss to our customers' data which disappointed and annoyed us a lot. There's one data recovery tools supplier declared their one-by-one platter exchange for jammed-motor drives with dumpers but it seems only their own clean room data recovery engineers are able to use that data recovery technology successfully but none of the rest. Maybe a thousand times' try will make it.

So what to do to increase our data recovery success rate while the traditional data recovery technology for jammed-motor drives failed?

Thanks to HDDsurgery, we got the spindle replacement tool. It's innovatively changing the way of clean room data recovery. It's to replace the jammed spindle instead of head and platter replacement which will be kept in place and alignment for successful data recovery. However, this tool is working so far for a limited drive families: Seagate 7200.11 and 7200.10 and support the following drive models: Read more here on data recovery magazine

Data Recovery Cost

Within this article, you are able to learn about different data recovery prices that occur in data recovery field. However, it's just one collection of data recovery prices and there're differences due to the size of the data recovery companies, the data recovery tools and technologies the companies used, the success rate the companies can achieve, the local economy development status, etc.

Data Recovery Services Prices:

* Data recovery cases you can easily handle with data recovery software: 40-120$, $375 to recover data from a 30 GB single hard disk drive running Windows and charges $1,000 for a 500 GB drive;
* For working hard drives, $390.00 regardless of storage capacity or form factor;
* For clicking drives, Service was well priced ($279) but I had to buy a disk from them to return my data on, which brought the total to around $485;
* $1,500.00 total for undetected drives, 30GB data, turnaround time: 2 days; USA;
* 200$ was charged in the initial stage and 1000$ was charged again after the first company failed;
* 600$ paid for head crashed hard drives, fix within 2 days;
* 700$ for motor stuck, 250GB hard drive, 2 days’ fix;
* Head swap cases, 900$, 6 days, 130GB, 95% data was recovered;
* Some big data recovery companies have their window data recovery services cost as 1000$ on average, they can still charge several thousand dollars for physical recovery cases;

* In general, pricing of raid recovery starts from $1500 onwards and will be more as the situations get more complex. If the number of disk elements making up the raid volume is big, users happen to lose the original disk order and strip block size, then it becomes more complicated and time consuming;

* SSD data recovery is mostly more expensive and many SSD data recovery cases are not recoverable right now.

Additional data recovery costs:

* Evaluation. Many firms do not charge for this, while others charge $20-$200.
* Expedited service. Most vendors expect a turnaround of three to seven business days Rush service can run to several thousand dollars.
* The cost of returning a hard drive is sometimes included in the quote.
* Cost of media used to return recovered data to customers. For small amounts of data, customers can supply CDs or a USB computer stick (approximately $15.00). A common option is for customers to supply a portable hard drive ($100-$350) when they send in their hard drives for repair. Recovered data can be obtained via secure online download, which may be the best option for international clients.
* Pick-up and delivery service can cost around $40.00 if a customer is located near the firm.

What is affecting the data recovery prices?

1, Storage media types, sizes, interfaces, etc.
2, Capacity of the drive;
3, Failure types;
4, OS types;
5, Technology access (if you are the only one who can do it, you are the boss);
6, Users’ attempt before sending for recovery;
7, Some special requirement of users (turnaround time, pick-up services, data return method, etc.)

So if you have more data recovery prices information about different data recovery services, please share here, thanks in advance.
