Clean room and flash ssd advanced data recovery training in Europe September

Data Recovery Salon is proud to announce in September we are offering Advanced Data Recovery Training in Portugal. Data Recovery Salon has teamed up with PCLab in Portugal to host three advanced training classes. The classes will begin on September 3rd to September 7th.

Reserve A Training Seat Now

This is the first chance to receive Advanced DR Training. It is our experience that Data Recovery is broken down into three distinct modules. Module one Logical and Physical Recovery, Module 2 Head and Platter swaps, and Module 3 Flash, SSD, Jump Drive and PCB repair. It is virtually impossible to teach all there is to know about Data Recovery in a week’s session. All training institutes offer you a crash course in Data Recovery. No facility will go into an in-depth study and teach you what is necessary in this time frame. The classes are short and only cover the very basics of Data Recovery. When the course is completed and you return home to your office with so much information but not a lot learned in this week’s course. There will be so many unanswered questions that you find yourself more confused than when you started out. Data Recovery Salon and PCLab in Portugal are offering you a chance to learn data recovery from a professional stand point. The classes offered are not crash courses but full hands on courses where you will do the work yourself. You will have a chance to choose which class will benefit you the most. There will be three professors to teach each one.

Module One: Logical and Physical Recovery:

Advance course studies into data recovery. The course highlight will include in-depth studies on the HDD, sector, byte, clusters, blocks, disk formatting. Further detail will be given to drive construction, spindle motor, heads, and actuator, landing zone, architectures and drives by type. During this course you will learn what the main function of data recovery are, physical and logical recovery, determining stage 1 and stage 2 recovery and typical malfunctions of the HDD. A complete class will be dedicated to logical recovery which will include master boot record, volume boot record, standard EPB for FAT 16, standard BPB for FAT16 and FAT boot Sector. Further study will be given on root directory, NTFS compressed files, NTFS encryption and Root Directory offset. Close attention will be paid to firmware and the Service area for each drive family. During this class you will study the firmware structure of each drive family. After learning how to determine the problem of the HDD it is necessary to repair these problems in order to have access to the data on the drive. In order to repair problems with the FW of the HDD a complete course is dedicated to using the tools from Salvation Data. You will learn how each tool is used in repairing the HDD, reading SA, ROM, RAM and much more. The Data Compass course will include in dept knowledge about the shadow disk, how the Data Compass works, setting up a HDD for imaging, how to image by heads, and finally RAID recovery. During the course each student will receive a manual for the course which they will use in class and be able to take with them when the class is finished. The course is based on the manual and in the appendix there is extra information needed to further your knowledge in data recovery.

Module Two: Head and Platter Swap:

This course only deals with Head and Platter Swaps. This is an extremely valuable class that will teach you techniques to succeed in swapping out heads and platters on hard drives. In normal classes the instructor will provide you with one hard drive and teach you a simple technique of using paper to swap out heads. Not many can succeed in this procedure without months and months of practice. In our advanced class you will learn how to swap out heads using precision tools. The techniques of moving heads from platters or ramps depending on the HDD make and model. You will learn how to find a matching donor drive for your head swaps. It is important to understand that each hard drive has a special way of removing a head and changing them out. You will not work with only one hard drive you will work in all models of hard drives and be required to practice swapping out heads in each series. The instructor will be there to help you and guide you through this process. Platter swaps is very difficult to make especially if there is more than one platter on the HDD and the drive has spacers. In this class you are instructed on how keep the alignment of the platters while moving them to a new chassis. During basic training classes the instructor will demonstrate a head swap and platter swap during the class time allocated for this section of the class. But not in advanced training your entire class is dedicated to head and platter swaps. This is the only way to succeed in this operations is by hours and hours of practice. This technique is difficult to master on your own but with our professional instructor you will leave this class and return to your office to swap out heads and platters for your client’s drives.

Module Three: Flash, Jump Drive, SSD, and PCB Repair:

Flash recovery is becoming more and more necessary in Data Recovery. Flash drives, jump drives, SSD drives are being used more and more for data storage and transfer. This class is especially designed to teach you how to recovery the different storage media. In this class each student should have access to a computer running XP or Vista and a Soft Center Flash Extractor. It is not necessary to purchase this before class but once the class is finished this tool will be necessary to use in recovering your flash drives on. If you are serious about Flash recovery it is recommended that you obtain the Soft Center Flash Extractor and bring this to class with you. The course is based on using this tool for recovering Flash drives, jump drives, and SSD. In this class you will be introduced to flash memory. How flash memory physically and logically operates using blocks, banks, pages, storage, algorithms and file systems. You will receive an over view of USB onboard components and electronics. Different types of popular flash chips such as monolithic and tsop-48 will be discussed and taught during this time. In Flash recovery it is important to be able to diagnose a faulty USB drives electrical components. You will learn how to replace controllers using soldiering station. During your course you will learn how to remove NAND chips with a soldering station. The Soft Center NAND reader will be introduced and you will learn how to use the reader and software for dumping data from a NAND chip(s). The Soft Center Flash Extractor program for reassembling and recovery data will be introduced. You will receive an over view of FE’s Mix Editor for de-mixing storage algorithm. It is necessary to understand the FE’s Assembler for assembling de-mixed data. Finally in this section of your course you will be introduced to Solid State Drives and file systems. SSD recovery is becoming more in more in demand so this section of the course deals only with SSD recovery, controller and electrical components. You will learn how to diagnose and repair faulty SSD, remove multiple NAND chips using a soldering station, dump data from multiple NAND chips on SSD in correct order. Finally in this class you will learn how to repair some PCB for hard drives. At times it might be necessary to rebuild the PCB when one is not available to you. This course will teach you how to determine the problem with the PCB and use the soldering station and techniques to repair these boards. This is a completely hands on course and you will be required to do some recoveries on flash drives, jump drives, and SSD. On some drives just to receive a dump can take one or two days to read the chips. The instructor will prepare some dumps for you in advanced and you will be required to reassemble these dumps to get data from the NAND chips. When this class is finished you will have the knowledge necessary how to recovery Flash, jump drives, SSD and repair PCB. You will have 5 days extensive training in only this area. Flash recovery is difficult and it is necessary to spend a full 5 days to learn this aspect of Data Recovery

Conclusion:

The three courses are specially designed with your needs in mind. It is not necessary to take all the classes you can pick the one that would benefit you the most. We have arranged for three experts in this field to be in Portugal during this week to teach you Advanced Training in Data Recovery. If there is an interest and you would like to attend more than one class we will see if there are enough students to hold these courses over one more weeks so that you may attend more than once class. Advanced Logical and Physical Recovery is designed around using the tools from Salvation Data the HD DR Suite, and the Data Compass. We are sorry but due to some companies restriction we are not allowed to train on their tools. If you are using another tools this course can still benefit you teaching you the drive basics, determination of stage 1 and stage 2 data recovery, the HDD Service Area, Firmware repair. You can take this class and go back to your office and apply all that you have learned using other tools. The head and platter swap class is a unique opportunity to learn how to be successful in swapping out your clients’ heads and platters. You will gain knowledge and techniques in these operations that are not taught anywhere else. You will have complete hands on experience in swapping out your own heads and platters during the classes. Flash recovery using Soft Center Flash Extractor the one expert’s choose in this field. This tool is highly rated for the success in flash, jump drive and SSD recovery. You will receive training on this tool that is not offered any where else by anyone. Flash recovery is one of the most difficult aspects of data recovery and we have one of the top experts in this field to train you and teach you this work. Don’t miss your chance to attend one of the Advanced Data Recovery training courses held this year in Portugal. You may sign up and register for the class or classes that best meet your needs.
